Meet Our Team

ED SCHMIDT - President:

Ed spent 20 years coaching college football at places such as the University of Washington, San Diego State University, Montana State University, Bowling Green State University and the University of Wyoming. The logistics of arranging lodging, air transportation, buses, meals, etc., was always one of his primary duties.

When Ed decided to change careers, owning and managing a destination management company/travel consultancy seemed a perfect fit. The lessons learned from coaching college football, such as a determined eye on attention to detail, a tireless work ethic, a fierce loyalty to staff, and an uncommon approach to customer service have all served him well.

Ed directs his staff in much the same way he guided his football teams: with encouragement, respect, love and determination. The strength of an organization is clearly exhibited in its leadership, and under Ed's guidance, The Travel Station has earned a reputation in the region as the one which goes the extra mile for its clients, exceeding their expectations.

MARK GLATT - Travel Consultant:

Mark has been with Cook Travel Station since 1988. To better understand how the accounting system worked, he began learning the technical side of an consultant's job. Over the years, Mark implemented the transition between accounting software packages and reservation systems several times. Along the way, he began escorting groups and participating in FAM trips, which built a good knowledge of many destinations. In 1994, he completed a 2 year course to become a Certified Travel Counselor (CTC).

At this point you could say that Mark is a verified travel consultant, but Mark feels the process is never fully complete. Keeping up with changes in technology and destinations is a on-going job. To Mark, a travel consultant's job is matching a customer's wants and needs to a travel itinerary. Combine the changes in technology and destinations plus the changes in customer's wants and needs, and Mark would say that change is probably he most challenging part of the job. Then again, change is also what makes his job very rewarding.

BETH KUEBLER - Travel Consultant:

Beth grew up in Great Falls, MT and began her Travel Career in 1988 after graduating from the North Idaho Travel Institute in Coeur D’ Alene, Idaho.  She started working at a Travel Agency in Great Falls, MT where she worked for several years before moving to Billings, MT with her husband.
Twenty years later, she still loves the challenges and joys that her clients bring to her.

She specializes in Corporate and Leisure Travel.  Beth loves to hear back from her clients to assure they had a wonderful vacation.  She learns from each and every client about their needs and concerns of their vacations.

Beth’s travels include Jamaica, Russia, Hawaii, Mexico, Disneyland, Disneyworld and many cities in the US. She has cruised to many Caribbean destinations.  Beth gets just as excited for the clients to go on their trips as they do.

TAMMY JOB BURT - Travel Consultant:

Tammy started in the travel business in 1980 with S.M. Cook Travel. She started out as a receptionist and was very interested in learning all the aspects of the travel agent, so was able to move to a training position less than a year later.

Today, she is still booking travel and loves to travel herself. She has been to Hawaii 12 times, been on several cruises, travelled to cities in Mexico many times and also been to Paris once.  Her dream destination is to be able to travel to Italy and Australia and New Zealand one day. She has done extensive work in corporate and leisure travel.

JERI SORENSON - Travel Consultant:

Jeri began her career in travel back in 1992, when she went to work for a travel agent friend who needed some help. She moved on to Cook Travel Station, where she has worked for several years. Jeri loves her job, her colleagues, and her office, which has become "like a home away from home."

As a vacation specialist, Jeri enjoys the challenge of guiding her clients through the travel planning process. She takes pride in arranging itineraries that are just right for their travel needs. Customers rely on Jeri's thorough preparation for the perfect vacation.

To keep herself up-to-date on destinations, Jeri likes to travel, especially to her favorite destination of Mexico. Her next travel fantasy: Fiji!
