Go to the Land Down Under! Australia and New Zealand

The term Down Under is a colloquialism which is variously construed either to refer to Australia and New Zealand, or Australia alone. The term comes from the fact that these countries are located in the southern hemisphere, below many other countries on the globe.

The persistence of the media use of the term has led to its wide embrace and usage. The Men at Work song "Down Under" became an instantly recognizable, patriotic rallying song. The famous Australian boxing champion Kostya Tszyu was nicknamed "The Thunder from Down Under".

Surrounded by history and culture, each island is their own unique destination. Both islands are well known for their landscape, flora, fauna and activities. Between May and November you can see whales of the coast of either island. Many people come to relax; others to get out and explore like crazy. Australia’s coastline is where first class waves create a surfer's paradise. Don’t forget to take a dive or go snorkeling- this is one of the best places on earth to do so. Both Australia and New Zealand are surrounded by warm, crystal clear blue waters rich in islands and reefs. Discover kelp-encrusted submarines off the Mornington Peninsula or a maze of underwater caves along Tasmania’s east coast. What are you waiting for!
